Terms and Conditions of MacKing.co.uk's Computer Service Product

1. Free Labour - Macking.co.uk offers a limited warranty with the service product. Should any fault arise within the 90 days following the service, not related to the service your Mac received, MacKing.co.uk will offer one hour of labour for free to fix the problem. This labour is only available for use with MacKing.co.uk repair service, it is not redeemable for any other repair service offered by MacColl Media Ltd or any other company. This time is only for use on the serviced computer on which it was accrued. It is not redeemable for cash and is not transferrable in any way. The validity of the free labour is only for the 90 days following the date of service.

2. Fascia cleaning - a total of one working hour will be spent cleaning the fascia to the best ability of our staff. We cannot guarantee a complete clean within one hour, if any extra work is required or cannot fully clean a particular area we will contact you. Any extra work you would like done will be charged at £30 + VAT per hour. No additional work will be carried out until payment has been received. While we strive to provide the best care we can for your Mac, we cannot accept liability for any damage arising from our labour on the computer. If your computer is damaged during cleaning, we will offer our flat rate of £57.50 for the purchase of it from you, or we will return it to you free of charge.

3. RAM Replacement - We will replace the memory in your computer with new memory and provide a lifetime warranty on the modules that we install into the machine. If you experience a fault with the memory you will need to contact us prior to returning the memory to us, otherwise you will not be eligible for replacement. We security mark the memory that is put into the computer. If the memory is removed or transferred to another computer the warranty will not be valid. If you send memory back to us that was not installed by our engineers for replacement we will not replace it and we will charge a handling fee of £5 plus a shipping fee of £1.69 (inclusive of VAT). Otherwise we will dispose of the memory.

4. Faulty Computer Sent for Service - If your computer is already faulty, or is found to be faulty during or after the mandatory stress test that all computers in for service undergo, we will contact you, inform you of the fault, provide a detailed report and will pass your contact information on to MacKing.co.uk Repairs so that they may provide you with a quote for repairing the machine. We will not pass your details on to any other company outside of the MacColl Media Ltd. organisation. If you would like us to delete any record of you at any time after a transaction has been completed, please Contact Us. MacColl Media Ltd. reserves the right, while in posession of your contact details to inform you by email, telephone or letter of any news, offers or new products we have available. If you do not wish to participate, please Contact Us.

5. Computer Damaged in Transit - Damage in shipment is not the responsibility of MacKing.co.uk, it is the responsibility of the sender to ensure that the Mac is suitably packaged for shipment and will not be damaged. Any damaged, irreparable goods will be returned to the sender. We will provide packaging materials if you do not have any for your computer to be collected. If you do not feel that we have provided sufficient packaging supplies, please Contact Us and we will happily provide more for you. However, the responsibility for safe packaging is still the senders liability, regardless of who has provided the materials.

6. Loss of Data During Service - If at any point during servicing, your data is lost, you will be informed. If our engineers feel that the salvaging of your data is time critical then they will act without your prompting to recover any data they can. Should you wish to get this data back, we will charge our standard Data Recovery Rate. Data Recovery is a non-guaranteed means of recovering data from damaged or inaccessible drives. This service is charged at £45+VAT per hard drive. If a new hard is required, this will be added to the quote. MacKing is not responsible for safeguarding your data against loss or damage while it is in our possession. If you have vital data which you require, you must back it up to a suitable medium before sending us your mac. We cannot be held responsible for the loss or damage of data, and thus cannot be held liable for any loss of work, earnings, profits or business interruption. By agreeing to send us your mac, you are accepting all terms and conditions.

7. In the unlikely event of damage to our warehouse through fire, water damage, storms, terrorism, robbery, theft, explosion or other catastrophic disaster, in which stock/goods are damaged, we are obliged to pay our book price for faulty Macs which is £57.50 as of August 2009. Any data loss due to any acts described above are subject to Clause 6 of this document. This amount is payable once we assess the damage to goods. A full police/insurance report can be forwarded in the extremely unlikely event of any of these circumstances.
