In Late 2010, Apple released the tapered edge MacBook Air. Both 13" and 11.6-inch models were introduced. Both 11-inch and 13-inch models had an analog audio output/headphone minijack supporting Apple earbuds with a microphone. The 13-inch model received a SDXC-capable SD Card slot.

Production of both models ended in 2016, with only the 13" continuing on in the same guise for 2017. The model was phased out and replaced when the MacBook Air was updated for the 2018 model year.
